Counseling is a vast subject and it deals with an array of counseling. Counseling can be done via video, phone or meeting in person. It is performed by counselors determined to help individuals articulate their emotions. Counseling is ideal for people who shy away from expressing themselves or discussing obstacles.

Counseling is a brief conversation between the client and the counselor where the client addresses their difficulties and provides introspective answers. 

Counseling follows an overlapping series. It is as follows -

1) Introduction - Counseling is all based on conversation. Counselors are trained individuals who aim to understand your problems to provide you with a reliable path for you to walk on. For that, the counselor has to know you well. That's why introduction plays a vital role. You have to be honest with them; only then can they facilitate your situation profoundly.

2) Building a relationship - Counselors must build a friendly relationship with the client. This stage is crucial because this is the time when the clients tend to open up about their raw emotions. Counselors have to ask interactive and friendly questions to get the barrier burden of the clients.

3) Empathy - Counselors ensure clients that they understand their situation and they understand their emotions. This way, clients can rely on counselors to find accurate guidance.

4) The Last stage - This is the stage when the counselors tell their clients how they should tackle the current obstacle or what they can do to make things better. Counselors might ask their clients to take follow-up sessions where they will examine their behavior or changes and provide guidance at intervals.

There are various types of counselors, but some of the widespread & common counselors are -

1) School counselors - Students tend to cage their emotions due to embarrassment. It becomes a root cause of severe mental health issues in life, and that's when school counselors lend a helping hand. School counselors have a separate section where they perform counseling sessions for students. School counselors are determined to solve problems or help students through rough times. Major schools have a school counselor that helps students unveil their emotions, solves their class contention and enables them to follow a career path. Children should be made aware that they can seek help from school counselors whenever needed.

2) Marriage and Family therapists - These counselors deal with couples encountering complications in their relationship. There are various reasons why couples face problems in their relationship, such as the loss of someone, insecurity, betrayal, parenting, communication barrier, toxic family mindset, adoption, pregnancy, etc. Marriage and Family therapists help couples understand the core reasons for their problems and save them from getting divorced.

3) Mental Health counselors - This type of counselor is also called a counseling psychologist. Mental Health counselors are committed to providing solutions and guidance to individuals facing conflicts reflecting on their mental health. In a fast-paced world full of commotion and competition, people can get burned out; that is when Mental health counselors come to their rescue. Mental health counseling is vital for people facing mental health issues.

4) Career counseling - Career counseling deals with brief career guidance for students who aspire to obtain certain degrees, college or career paths. This domain of counseling is specific to career pathways. If someone aims to change their career and is perplexed about their decision, they can opt for career counselors.

5) Child pediatric counseling - This type of counselor is determined to assist children facing mental health issues. Children's grief or emotional burden can cause severe problems in the future, such as inclining towards committing a crime, becoming cold-hearted, irritability, chronic depression and much more. This type of counselor understands children's emotional wounds and helps them overcome their fears through persistent counseling sessions.
